The brute's head tilted when Jasin voiced his inability to loosen up around his tutors. He didn't understand, but then again, Ice knew he wasn't like the other wolves. Despite his lack of empathy, he wasn't dumb. The war machine of a wolf did and said whatever his broken mind thrust him to do and there was nothing he was uncomfortable with. But, he was learning. With Reina now living with him, he could study the emotions of a wolf. The fear, disappointment, passion, and joy. He was learning more of what made up his soldiers and it intrigued him. As a wolf who just did, the dubiousness of some wolves was a foreign concept he was interested to learn.
Jasin definitely interested him. There was something about him. Obviously the skill, potential, and creepy glints Ice occasionally saw in his eyes. But besides being a little killing prodigy, something profound and forgetten stirred within Ice when he saw the small figure of the youth or caught him displaying enthusiastic behavior. He remembered the days when he would have demanded a subordinate to speak and torn anything he wanted out of them. Something deep stopped him and instead found pleasure in figuring out the emotions of Reina and Jasin.
Of course, the brute was still murderous and marveled at thoughts of taking over the lands, but his methods had changed to preserve his troops' numbers and entertain himself in other ways.
"A question game, hmm?" Ice glanced at Reina, before looking back at Jasin. His tongue drew over his lips as he contemplated what information he'd like. He knew little to nothing of the cruel soldiers he'd recruited. As long as his army was being filled with able-bodied and obedient wolves Ice didn't give a damn about where they came from. "Where were you before Whisper Pack?" the alpha questioned.
